Building A House Of Wisdom

BUILDING A HOUSE WITH WISDOM

By Wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established. Proverbs 24:3

Have you ever had a dream of building your own house? Maybe you’ve imagined the perfect design, the ideal location, and all the amenities you want in your dream home. But have you ever thought about how to actually build that house? In a dream, it may seem easy to gather all the materials you need and build your dream home in an instant. But in reality, building a house takes time, effort, and wisdom. You have to plan, prepare, and work diligently to bring your dream to life.

The same is true when it comes to building a life of wisdom. We can’t just magically acquire wisdom overnight. It takes effort and a willingness to learn from our experiences, our mistakes, and the wisdom of others. Proverbs 24:3 reminds us that wisdom is essential for building a house, but it’s not enough on its own. We also need the understanding to establish what we’ve built. Understanding helps us see the big picture, anticipate challenges, and make wise decisions that will help our house stand the test of time.

But where do we get wisdom and understanding? How do we build a life that’s grounded in these qualities? The answer is simple but not easy: we gain wisdom and understanding one day, one event, and one scripture at a time. Gaining wisdom and understanding requires us to be intentional and diligent. We must seek wisdom through prayer, reading and studying the Bible, and seeking advice from wise mentors and friends. We also must be willing to learn from our mistakes, take risks, step outside of our comfort zones, and embrace challenges as opportunities to grow.

Building a house with wisdom is hard work that lasts a lifetime. But the rewards are immeasurable. When we build our lives on a foundation of wisdom and understanding, we are better equipped to weather the storms of life, make decisions that honor God and bless others, and leave a legacy of faith that will inspire future generations.

Let’s take Proverbs 24:3 to heart and make a commitment to build our lives on a foundation of wisdom and understanding, piece by piece. We can seek God’s wisdom through prayer and study of His Word, and we can willingly embrace the hard work of constructing a life that honors Him. As we do, we can trust that God will establish what we have built and use it for His glory and our benefit.
