HIS EMBRACE

I was recently reading a fictional book in which two of the characters were having an in-depth conversation regarding handling a harsh life event by oneself. The female character asks the male character if he was going to try and handle the event by himself. He responds that he cannot ask her for help after what he had done to her in the past. She gently reminds him that they are friends and she is there to provide hope, love, forgiveness, and trust. I think that sums up my relationship with Christ during those times I blow it and willing walk into sin. I am extremely reluctant to ask Christ for forgiveness because of what I’ve done (most likely this is a repetitive sin). I try to face it on my own, and He gently comes to me, reminding me that He has died for me and has covered my sins. He then opens His arms wide and invites me to accept His hope, love, forgiveness, and trust. With my crushed and broken heart, tears streaming down my cheeks, I step forward into the engulf of His embrace, and know my Lord and Saviour has me covered.
